Filming and Photography Permissions for Media Crews and Visitors
University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) warmly welcomes media crews and representatives to utilize its campus for filming and photography. Our state-of-the-art facilities and vibrant environment offer a unique setting for academic collaborations, cultural showcases, and professional productions.
To ensure smooth coordination and respect for campus life, the following guidelines and procedures have been established for filming requests:
Application Process:
All external media parties must obtain prior approval for any filming or photography activities on UDST premises. Applications should be submitted at least 14 days in advance and include:
- Purpose of the project (e.g., academic interviews, media production, documentary filming)
- Proposed filming date(s) and time(s)
- Locations on campus to be used
- Details of the crew, including names and roles
- Equipment list and any special requirements
- Any intended use of UDST’s name, logo, or branding?

Guidelines for Filming:
To respect the academic environment and Qatar's cultural values, all external filming activities must adhere to the following guidelines:
- Respect for Qatari Culture
- Ensure that filming content aligns with local traditions, values, and norms.
- Dress appropriately and encourage crew members and participants to observe cultural sensitivity.
- Minimizing Disruptions
- Filming should not interrupt classes, research activities, or events on campus.
- Restricted access areas, such as labs or private offices, require additional permissions.
- Security and Safety
- External crews must be accompanied by a designated UDST representative during filming.
- Equipment Setup
- Temporary setups must not obstruct pathways or campus operations.
- Drone use is permitted only with approval from our Facilities Directorate after obtaining the necessary permits from Qatar's Civil Aviation Authority and the Ministry of Interior.
- Brand Usage
- Usage of UDST's logo or branding requires explicit prior approval from the Marketing and Communications Directorate.
On-Site Support:
UDST offers the following optional support services for external crews:
- Assistance with logistics and campus navigation.
- Access to facilities like parking and equipment storage.
- Security coordination for safe and seamless filming.
- Support services must be requested in advance.
