The Master of Science in Process Safety (M.Sc. PS) is a graduate program designed to provide students with the expertise to assess, measure and mitigate safety hazards, hazardous emissions, and exposure levels in compliance with local and international health and safety standards. Students in this program develop the necessary skills for the creation and operation of inherently safe chemical operations utilizing specialized knowledge built on a strong background in chemical engineering. The program is not only designed for theoretical concepts but also emphasizes practical applications from the chemical industry. This includes case studies from the industry and hands-on experience in measuring hazardous materials, assessing air and water quality, and ensuring compliance with local and international standards. Additionally, the program incorporates a risk management component. In an ever-evolving chemical industry, risks including chemical exposures, fires and explosions, process upsets and failure, human errors and many more are always present. This program allows students to actively identify, evaluate, and mitigate such risks.
The program content is aligned to international micro-credentials including NEBOSH, OSHA and American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AICHE). These micro-credentials are important as they provide international recognition of skills and competencies of the graduates and help them in marketability in the global workforce.
